Chile is home of happy, noisy, excited and passionate people, that’s what I realized last 13th. Cuiaba was just crowded of Chileans everywhere, in the streets, in parks, in central squares, anywhere that a person can sit and have a beer there was a group of Chileans screaming “Chi chi chi, le le le, viva Chile!”

And why did it happen? Because more than 15 thousands Chileans came to Cuiaba to see Chile vs. Australia match. There was thousands of Australians too, but Chile is way closer than Australia, so was easy to understand why they came in a higher number.

Even with more Chileans in Cuiaba, I made many Australian friends, Shon, Ignacio, Albert, Tajna, Mel, all awesome people, so naturally, I had to wear a yellow t-shirt and watch the game with them to support the Socceroos.

When I first got at the Pantanal Arena I got numb, the amount of people was incredible, people in funny overalls, faces masked up, loud singer groups, red, and blue, yellow and green everywhere, it was really impressive, just after that moment I realized it was World Cup (tears fell off).

After a great game and 4 goals scored Chile got its first victory. At that moment I knew Chilean party was just starting. Even supporting a country who did not win I felt glad to be there with friends participating in biggest sport event of the whole World. It was priceless.

With the beginning of the World Cup Cuiaba could not be more excited, local people and tourists were all ready. Thousands of Chileans and Australians that had come to watch their selections on June 13° at Pantanal Arena were on the streets and at the FIFA Fan Fest to watch the Brazil Vs. Croatia. The entire city was a big party.

For the entire World Cup I will receive foreign people to stay in my place for few days, I decided to help offering my place once I know that right now is hard to find a hotel in Cuiaba because all are booked or they are so expensive.
The first girl that I received was an Australian girl; she was very excited about everything and loved Cuiabanian hot weather. We went to FIFA Fan Fest with Regina, another friend of mine (Brazilian). What I did not expected was that much of fun, Chileans singing everywhere, Australians dressed up as kangaroos, Brazilians taking pictures of everything and a huge structure as Cuiaba never had seen before.

I found old friends, I met new people, I made new friends, we watched an amazing game (with a happy ending to Brazil), we danced to celebrate, long story short, we had a great time. And it was just the first day, imagine what is coming.
